Additional Saturday Workshop:

Silvia Jensen has offered an additional single workshop (1.5 hr session):

“Kindergarten and Classroom Aesthetics: Relating the Elements of the Visual Arts to the Learning Environments we Create.

In this workshop Silvia will introduce ways of thinking about the elements that we explore through the visual arts, especially our relationship with colour.  As we begin to explore phenomenology, we can reach into colour in a ‘soulful’ way and deepen our understanding of environmental colours and classroom colours.

Change to the Eurythmy items in the Program: The Eurythmist has changed from Brianna Kairl to Micala Campbell.

We are very grateful to Micala for graciously stepping in to replace Brianna, who will now be in Dornach when our Hobart conference takes place.

Additional Morning Workshop:

Connecting Ourselves to Country, and our Children to their Time and Place

with Jane Evans

"In these three sessions we will look at connections between Steiner curriculum and Indigenous views of how the child learns and experiences the world, and some protocols and perspectives that can guide our first steps and endeavours. We will then explore practical ways to enrich our own lives and wellbeing through developing our own connection to country, and finally share how this can be embedded in our practice to shape our classroom curriculum, seasonal activities, nature stories, and community connections".

NB Jane is still offering this series of workshops in the afternoon.

There are no more places available in the afternoon workshop, so Jane has kindly offered to run the same workshop in the morning time slot as well.

Raffle

It has long been a tradition to have a raffle at our Vital Years conference. Funds raised by the raffle contribute to the work of SECA in Australia and support the work of our international association in early childhood projects around the world.

This year we have many wonderful prizes generously donated, including handmade dolls and toys from our SECA members in different regions, and a variety of skin care products, art supplies, and other exciting items from Steiner suppliers.

Look at the Raffle page to see the great prizes, growing each week to include more kind donations as we get closer to our gathering.
TICKETS will be on sale at the Marketplace every day during the conference. Raffle will be drawn on Sunday.

Marketplace Stall: Pre-Loved Treasures

In our Marketplace there will be a treasure table for pre-loved books, resources, and special items on offer for sale. This is a wonderful opportunity for those who may be new to Steiner education to build up your stores of useful and precious  items.  For those who wish to sell suitable Steiner/Waldorf books, resources, or handicrafts, please bring your items labelled with the price, your name, and contact details. A SECA committee member will be taking care of this stall on behalf of all the sellers.

Craft Evening

On Thursday evening there will be an opportunity to gather and sew/knit/create after dinner.
There are already some wonderful offerings: Forming the head of a doll, and making fleece angels are just two that we think you will enjoy. Guidance with knitting projects will be sure to feature!
You can bring along your own craft to work on, bring patterns to share, or guide a small group of other interested crafters to learn a new technique or to create a small project. Group leaders may request a small charge to participants to cover the cost of their materials. Please bring your own sewing kit.
If you are interested in leading a craft group, especially something that can be used in our work in early childhood settings, please contact:This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
