History of the Vital Years Raffle
It has long been a tradition to ask the members of the Association in each Region to donate a handmade doll to be raffled at the Vital Years Conference, held every alternate year in the past. Funds raised by the raffle contribute to the SECA donation to IASWECE (The International Association for Steiner Waldorf Early Childhood Education) for supporting developing projects in Steiner/Waldorf early childhood education in new member countries around the world.
In 2021 SECA hosted an online Vital Years Conference due to the restrictions to in person gatherings imposed as a result of the global pandemic. We were able to continue the tradition by posting the wonderful selection of prizes on our new website, including dolls and puppets as well as other donations from some of our Sponsors: Sydney Rudolf Steiner Books, Weleda, Inner Work Path, and others. Conference participants were able to purchase tickets online, and raffle draw occurred 'live' during each day of the conference, bring much delighted anticipation to everyone.
We are very grateful to all those who support this initiative: to all of those who make and donate the prizes, and those who purchased tickets.
